Big Yarding Of Pigs Affects Values At Levin
A large yarding of pigs at the Levin sale yesterday caused slight depreciations in values over all lines. In the sheep section, a heavy yarding of fat wethers" maintained a good sale mainly due to the very light yarding of ewes. Approximately 500 store lambs came forward and sold on a par with last week's rulings. A small entry of dairies met with little or no demand. Only an average number of fat cattle were penned, some fair saies resulting. The following is a range of the prices realised: — Sheep: Prime heavy wethers, 39s lOd to , 41s 7d; prime two-tooths, 38s -4d to 39s lOd; prime black faces, 36s lOd to 39s 4d; fat lambs (woolly tops), 39s lOd; medium quality do., 29s 4d to 31s 4'd; . prime .shorn black faced lambs, 38s 4d.
