Found Guilty of Indecent Assault

After a retirement of 35 minutes a jury in the Supreme Court at Palmer- . ston North yesterday returned verdiets of guilty against Charles Henry Freeman, freezing worker, aged 46 years, of Longburn, who was ehargea with indecently assaulting an infant girl, aged six years and four montlis, and with common assault on the same child. Freeman had pleaded not guilty to the two eharges. The Crown Prosecutor was Mr. N. E. Bain, of Wanganui, while Mr. L. Laurenson appeared for the aceused. Mr. Justice Christie, who presided, said he agreed with the jury's verdiet and remanded Freeman to appear at 10 a.m. on Friday for sentence.
