New Basis Of Power Allocation

AUCKLAND, Feb. 2. An appeal for a 10 per cent. saving in the consumption of electric power is to be niade by the Auckland Electric Power Board to all its consumers. Mr. E. H. Bartlgy, general manager, in a report to Ihe board said the basis per power alioeation to supply authorities had been altered from previous years, the object being to spread restrictions if neeessary over the fuil year in an endeavour to avoid too drastie measures during the winter. The whole success of this method depended on the full cooperation of all the supply authorities concerned especially as the basis of the scheme was to conserve water for storage. If this was not achieved beeause of lack of cooperation, then the scheme niust fail.
