January Was Hot and Dry Month In Levin
J anuary in Levin was • an unusually hot and dry month, aceording to statistics recorded by Mr. H. Harvey, of Cambridge Street. Rain fell on only seven days of the month and the total was-2.43 inches, as compared with 3.44 inches in January of last year. On 19 days of the month the maximum temperature was 80L. degrees or over, the hottest day|being January 8 when the mercury touched 87-|- degrees. ^ Eighty degrees or ovef. was the. maximum temperature on the first .nine- days of the month. The lowesf ^daily temperature was 38 degrees "'on the llight of January. 19, but.it was the only day whemi-tBisHhermometer fell below 50 degrees.
