V " SYDNEY, Jan. 30. During a fast run throughout lasi uiglit th,e Victorian ketch Kurrewa Ili was "more . like a . Bondi surf board than a yacht," according to a wireless report received by the Eoyal Prinee Alfred Yacht Glub this inorning. She-gave her positiou at 5 a.ru. today as 398 miles east of Sydney, with a south-east wind and a rough following sea. During- the early inorning she - shipped ' ' plenty of water and one fLving fish. " She is leading the Sydn-ey ketch VYayfarer by 65 iniles, with the Sydney cutt.er Peer Gynt -handy. Though.'arrangenients were made before the race for all vessels to report once daily to the Kurrewa, when their positions would be relayed on to the Eoyal Prince Alfred Yacht Olub, she has lieard from no others but the Peer Gynt and the Wayfarer. On the haudicaps, both these yachts are leading the Kurrewa by sorne hours. If the Kurrewa crosses the iinisliing line on Sunday night, she will -beat the transTasman race record by oue and a-half days.
