Novelist Maugham To Appear in Film
Novelist Somerset Maugham, ti years of age, will play himself in "Quintet." The Gainsborough film will present five of Maugham's short stories (in the same type of portmanteau production as "Dead of Night") . Maugham will appear, sitting in £ studio fake-up of • his Riv villa, complete with Etruscan vas^s, an antique lectern, and a view of Cap Ferrat. » Britain is, of course, also filming Maugham's "Then and Now," which is all about Cesar Borgia (George Sanders) , and Machiev- ' elli. It is said that it will be one of the most luscious of all costume dramas censored and delivered.
