Miss New Zealand Pays Visit To Foxton
Finding time to make a. break from the arduo.us duties devolving on her following her selection as "Miss New Zealand" in the Royal Society of St. George's food for Britain • campaign, Miss Mary Wootton recently spent a fortnight's holiday in Foxton. ' She was the guest .of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hankin, of Norbitoh Road. In order to secure complete rest, it was Miss Wootton's desire to remain incognito during her stay in Foxton and to assist in the elusion she let her hair down soon after her arrival and, for the next fortnight , was "just Mary," with j the result, she confessed, of haviing enjoyed the loveliest of holiI days in what she terms a very 1 prettyv countrysfde. j Miss Wootton has yet to visit a number of places in the Dominion i prior to her departure for England, ' and in between times she is doing a little broadcasting work. She is 1 scheduled to fly from Auckland to Sydney on March 31 and leave there by air a week later, arriving in England on April 15. She will be abroad six months, during which time she will possibly visit the Continent, arid will return to New Zealand via Canada and the jUnited States.
