A person-to-person call put through to him from Wellington about 11 o'clock yesterday mornmg had, by 2 p.m., produced only an apologetic announcement from the Christchurch toll operator that "We had him once, but he got away. " The maternity hospital was, by comparison, garrulpus. "They're both very pleased," it .was reported.
