Probatiori for Youth Eric James Mercer, labourer, aged 194, who had pleaded guilty to the theft of £53 from a fellow employee at Otaki, was admitted to probation by the Acting-Chief Justice, Sin Archibald Blair, in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday. A condition was impose*d that he make restitution of the money stolen in such. instalments as the probation officer may direct, and. pay the costs of the proseeution, E? 10s. Mr. W. H. Cunningham appeared for the Crown.
