Dog Takes Heavy Toll Of Valuable Fowls
A straying dog which broke into fowl houses on two Levin poultry farms during Saturday night caused heavy losses to the owners as a result of his' depredations. At Mr, A, J. H. Allen's in York Street 74 fowls were killed, the majority of them a valuable consignment imported from Australia at a cost of £200. The raider also visited Mr. T. Cheesman's in Bartholomew Road, killing 35 fowls there. In eaeh casb entry was gained to the runs by the same- method of pushing under the wire-netting.
