SPECTACULAR ACCIDENT HAS COURT SEQUEL

A spectacular accident on the main road north of Shannon had its sequel in the Magistrate's Court, Levin, yesterday, when William. Ewett Addinell, of Koputaroa, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving without due care and attention. For the police, Sergeant W. Grainger told the court how Addinell had been driving north, when he had apparently gone to sleep over the wheel. The car struck the side of a bridge. The side rail of the bridge had penetrated the front. of the veh'icle and passed right through to the back seat, "dividing the passengers." Addinell was convicted and fined 10s by Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M, Court costs were 12s.
