Personal Mrs. J. Baker, of Mangaore, has returned home after spending a holiday at Petone. Mr. and Mrs. T. Willis, of Pukekohe, spent Wednes-day as the guests of Mr. and Mrs'. G. Fitzgerald, Plimmer Terrace. Mr. and Mrs. Willis left by car on their return. journey on Thursday mornuig* . Miss Elva Hook, daughter of Mr. Roy Hook, Stafford Street, has returned home after an extendec tour of Australia - spread over a period of 18 months. Miss Hook visited Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, leaving from Fremantle on her return to New Zealand. Miss Hook was greatly impressed by the hospitality shown her as a visitor from New Zealand. Sealing Of Grey Street At the meeting of the borough council on Tuesday, the revised estimates for the sealing of Grey Street were received from the Highway's Board engineer. In reply to a question- as to when the work of sealing is likely to commence, the town clerk, Mr. J. T. Bovis, stated that no definite date was fixed but it was expected that the foundation work would be eommenced in the near future but it was unlikely that the actual sealing would be done until next summer.
