FOOD FOR BRITAIN
R.S.A. PARCELS APPRECIATED The secretary of the Shannon branch of the Returned Services' Association, Mr. E. J. Gunning, has. received further letters of appreciation from recipients of food parcels sent to the families of exservicemen in Scotland by the local branch. One is from a girl; Molly Downie, of East Green, Kinross, who writes on behalf of her mother, -brothers and sister. In extending sincere thanks to the Shannon R.S.A., Miss Downie mentions the trying conditions under which the poorer classes are living, and how welcome the food parcels are. Arthur Meldrum, of Crail, Fifeshire, strikes the same note as he outline's the problems of • keeping a family under the present food rationing in Britain. It is indeed gratifying . to know that the efforts of the local R.S.A. are being appreciated by the people in need on the>^otherf «side of ; , the world. ?
