A Danger To Young Swimmers • The attention of parents is drawn I to the danger of allowing young | children to go swimming unattend|ed in the Manawatu River. Although the river is- very low at present there is still a'rather strong current running in the centre and on a recent afternoon a young boy attempting to swim across the river got into the current and was swept ■a considerable distance downstream before he was able to return to the bank. The river is quite safe for older children, who can make the crossiijg withput trouble. It is, however, advisable to see that I at least one strong swimmer is with Jeach party of children who visit the river. ; ^ "
