MAN KILLED WHEN CAR OVERTURNS

CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 6. One passenger was killed and three others injured when a car overturne'd on the Lewis Pass Road shortly before midday, 23 miles from Ilanmer Springs. The driver of the car, Mr. A. G. MeConchie, and a four-year-old boy escaped injury. The nian killed was Mr. Gordon Maxwell MeOonchie, aged 34, carpenter of Te Awakura Terrace, Mount Pleasant. The three injured were Mrs. G. M. McConchie, wife of the deceased, Hugh iMcConchie, aged 16, son of the driver, and Mrs. M. P. McConchie, wife_.of the driver. All were admitted to the.Queen Mary Hospital, Hainner Springs. • Hugh McConchie was later transferred to the Christchurch Hospital.
