BOY'S SPINE FRACTURED BY FALL OVER CLIFF

WELLINGTON, Jan. 6. Falling 40 feet over a cliff at Picton on Monday, William Porter, aged 18, Devonshire Road, Wellington, received a fraetured spine. He was saved from still more serious injury tlirough landing on his paek. Porter, who was on a holiday, was brought back to Wellington by the Taniahine and admitted to hospital late this afternoon. His eondition later was reported satisfactory.
