PROPOSED MERCER OF RACING CLUBS
"At Foxton much capital construction is needed, and as the course is handy to Palmerston North and within 12 miles of Levin, any substantial capital expenditure would be uneconomie," says the report of the Rpyal, Commission on Gaming. "We recommend that these two clubs be amalgamated and race at Levin, the amalgamated club to have the two days at present fenjoyed by Levin and one of the two days at present enjoyed by Foxton. The remaining day previously allotted to Foxton we recommend should constitute one of the pool days to which we have already referred."
