FURTHER POSTPONEMENT
BATE OF PIPE BANB CONTEST TO BE ABVANCEB The Wellington-Hawke's Bay Pipe Band Cenrre's contest, which was to have . been held on the Levin Park Domain on Saturday, February 14, has been postponed indefinitely. A decision to this effect was made by the contest committee at a meeting in Levin last night. The secretary Of the committee, Mr. A. L. Dobson, said today that the contest will definitely be held as soon as possible after the infantne paralysis outbreak has subsided. Being the first band contest to be held in the Horowhenua, it should ayoke widespread interest, there being up to 20 bands competing. An attractive prize-list has heen compiled ;and medals numbering 54 have been donated by local re- ' sidents. Substantial trophies, sucb as' cups and rose bowls, have b'een donated by Mr. and Mrs. W. -R, Jack, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Wise and Mr. and Mrs. W. Swan. These wfi] b'e memorial trophies, and will be competed for annually at the centre -.contests.
