BVDXKY. Jan. 5. After a 10-mile chase by police ears. t wo boys of 1 (i were arrested for unlawfully converting a utility truck. During the chase the four pursuing poiiee ears reached speeds of 70 niiles an hour on a crowded highway. One police car was forced to crash into the pillars of a safety zone, and the utility Iruck finished its career by smashing th rough the plate-glass window of a florist 's shop. Tlie truck, wliich was knnwn to have been stolen, was sigfited in the suburb of Balmain by a wireless police car. which called others to the chase. After airlie niiles of pnrsuit. the leading- car Irew alongside tlie truck, but the youth lriving tlie stolen vehicle swerved in ihe best TTollvwood manner and forced he car out into the safety zone Although extensivelv damaged, the police car continued the chase. At last, in the suburb of Petersham, two police ears drew alongside. Tlie truck mounted the footpatli and crashed into n florist 's shop, after which it bounced back on to the footpatli and Jrnck a post. Tlie youllis attempted to escape on foot, but were eaught after a chase o' •i liundred vards.
