Personal , ^ . . Mr. Wi Nikora is at present m Rotorua for treatment to his leg. Mrs. Vic. Letford,. of Auckland, is at present the guest of Mrs. Percy Taylor. Mr. and Mrs.- Mannestad, of Auckland, are at present staying with Mrs. Waide at Hautere Cross. 'Mrs. T. W. Synnott, who has been in hospital in Wellington for three weeks, has returned to her home but expects to again enter the institution at'a later date. Light Rainfall The rainfall in Otaki during December was 1.60 inches, the highest fall being 51 points on the 26th. Rain fell on ten days. It was an ideal summer month. Last December 3.51 inches of rain fell on ten rain days. First Success Ashley Reed, well-known in sporting circles in New Zealand, had his first success as a trainer last month, when he won the Moorland Stakes at Moonee Valley, Australia. •
