WADE WILL WIN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

DUNEDIN, Jan. 2. K. Gf..Wade, of Wellington, will win the New Zealand 1947-48 chess title. With ten of the eleven ronnds of the championship completed, he is in an unassailable position with nine points compared with his nearest opponent's seven. Wade won the title in 1943-44 and. retained it in 1944-45 but lost it to T. Lepviikman, of Palmerston North and fOrmerly of Estonia and Wellington. Lepviikman, wTho has been ehampion for the last two years, is at present third in the championship -with 6£ points. Results of play today were; — Championship. Ninth round: H. MeNabb beat A. E.
