Indian Decision On Kashmir Issue

Received Wednesday, 10.10 a.m. NEW DELHI, Dec. 30. The Indian Government has 'decided to refer the Kashmir issue to the United Nations' Security Council. Pakistan and other Dominion representatives were informed of this decision after a meeting of the Indian Cabinet this afternoon. The British Prime Minister, Mr. Attlee, had 48 hours' notice of India's intention, says a correspondent. The Indian Cabinet considered his report of the British Government's- reaction today. It is understood that India submitted the issue without prejudice to her eff of ts to clear the raiders from" Kashmir. The case is ' being submitted under Article 35 of the United Nations' Charter, which states that a member may submit a situation which might cause a dispute.
