SIR CARL BERENDSEN'S FINE JOB AT UNO
AUCKLAND, Dec. 28. The leader of the New Zealand delegation to UNO and New Zealand Minister to Waahihgton, Sir Carl Berendsen, was regarded as one of the outstanding men in UNO,.said Mr. T. O. W. Brebner, New Zealand Consul-' General and Customs, representative in New York, who arrived at Auckland from Vancouver by the Wairata. Sir Carl was an excellent chairman of the various committees'and his ability and forthfight attitude had created a fine impression. Mr. Brebner has been away from New' Zealand for more than II years. He spent three years in the Customs section of New Zealand House, London, and he has held his present appointm ent in New York for eight and a half years. He will remain in tho Dominion for some months on a refresher course. Mr. Brebner stated that he had been an alternate delegate to the General Assemblv of UNO but his chief duty as Oonsui-General had been to Iook after the interests of New Zeaianders in New York.
