FAREWELL EVENING
A pleasing event of wi'de country interest was recently held in the Te Horo Hall, when residents of Te Horo and surrounding districts met to honour Mr. aua Mrs. A. A. Rolfe and family prior td ' ' thfelf leaving the district to take up residence in Wanganui. The evening which was enjoyed by all, took the form of a social and dance, songs being rendered by Mes-dames s. Ridge and K. Spiers and Misses M. Dobson (Wanganui), p. Morgan and H. Sn'ers and recitations by Mrs. L. Styles. The opportunity was taken during the evening to present the guests of honour with a canteen of cutlery, when Mr. R. w. Jenkins, in a v/ell-chosen speech, recalled many of Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe's interests, kindliness and at all times their loyal suppor't, assuring them that it was the sincere wish of a(l present that they would find health and happy relationship in their nsw Ihe. Mrs. Rolfe had devoted much of her time to Plunket work and in that sphere she would be gready missed. Fle conveyed the kmdly thought that they would return very often to visit their old friends. Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe thanked one and all for their very handsome piesent and the good wishes that Xf* ^Wit£ Their association with Te Horo was very dear to u j1/ hearts and had been a joy It had been very hard to uproot themf les> J?.ut th2y hoped to meet agam often. Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe, Scnr M" and Mrs. Avery and family (Levin > Mis Dobson, Senr., Mr. and Mrs! »yer.: J^bs:>n (Wanganui) and Miss M Dobson (Wanganui) were among those present.
