MEETING AT TE HORO

The November meeting of the Te Horo Women's lnstnute was very rairiy attended. Mbs. R. Mrs. Grant read a very interesung report on the haii-yearly couiiuil meeting of the South Wellington Federation. She was tnanxed by Mrs. Strom. Mrs. MacDonaia sang "'Biess This House" and for an encore renaered "Love's Old Sweet Soiig," which was mueh enjoyed. a inodel had been made and w^as suicaoly 'dre^sed, providing an amusing guessing compeiition, "Who is the Lady?" There were many guesses before the correct answer was found. Mi-s. Clark won Mrs. Scott's chair, while Mrs. Marino won Mr. Evans' child s chair. The roll call, "Smg or Say" was very enterfcaining when everyone contributed a piece. Some of the old favourite carols were sung and the president extended the season's greetings. Mesdarnes McDonald and Sutton were the hostesses. Ihe hat parade competition was judge'd by popuiar vote, first place going to Mrs. Grant, with Mrs. Windley second and- Mrs. Strom third. Other competitions resulted: — Best flower: Mrs. McDonaid 1, Mrs. Walker 2, Mrs. Strom 3. Christmas novelty: Mrs. Clark 1, Mrs. Windley 2, Mrs. Styles 3.
