First Wedding Since 1943
The first wedding in Stewart Island for four years will take place tomorrow when a young woman who resides at Half Moon Bay will be married at the Oban Presbyterian Church. On Monday there will be another wedding, in the Anglican church. The last wedding on the island took place in 1943. The long interval is explained by the fact that most Stewart Island brides prefer to be married on the mainland.
