Lancaster Takes Off

The four-engined Royal Air Force Lancastrian aircraft which •had been at Ohakea for nearly two weeks left for Sydney at 8.5 a.m. on Saturday in perfect weather. A considerable amount of work was put into the aircraft by the general engineering section at the station, including repairs, to the petrol tank on the inner port wing, and a complete top overhaul by the air frame repair section, under the command of Flight-Lieutenant C. Fitzgerald, B.E.M. The commander of the Lancastrian (FlightLieutenant Flowers) paid a high tribute to the efficiency of the ground staff at Ohakea.
