R.S.A. SECRETARY RESIGNS
EXECUTIVE EXPRE^SES REGRET The secretary of the Levin R.S.A., Mr. D. Griffiths, last night tendered his resignation to the executive committee. The appointment of Mr. Griffiths was made at the last annual general meeting. He succeeded Mr. W. Meddings. In a letter to the committee, Mr. Griffiths stated that pressure of his private business would not allow him to, give sufficient time to the position, and he wished his "resignation to become effective as from December 31. Th'e president, Mr. N. M. Thomson, said the secretary's resignation canie as a burprise to him. He expressed regret at the decision of Mr. Griffiths, and asked him if he could possibly recpnsider ' it or, alternatively with-hold it until the next annual general meeting as a change at the present time would bp most inconvenient. In reply, Mr. Griffiths said that he would prefer the letter to stand, but he would give every possible assistance to his successor. It appeared that the executive had no option but to accept the rpsignation, said Mr. Thomson, i The committee did so with regret, . however, and he moved that appre- : ciation of the good service rendered by Mr, Griffith to the R.S.A. be i Riaced on record. This was pass- ! e^'unanimously, and it was decid- [ ed that the position of secretary be abvertised immediately.
