Government officials revealed tliat President Trunlan is expected to launclx a Government fuel and power conservation drive with an appeal for voluntary rationing by consiuners and a voluntary curtailment of aiNtomobile pleasure driving. The Acting Interior Secretaty (Mr. , Oscar Chapman) said American economy was affected "by coal and Oil shortages and was in danger !of xtinaway inflation. He asked C'ongress for standby presidential' powers to nation and control the price of coal and oil to avert a possible ' 'national economic catastrophe. ' '
