KING TO CALL FOR UNITED PEACE EFFORT

YTken the King speaks to the peoples of the British CommonWealth on the afiernoon of Cliristmas Day, the hoiir 's programme which vs'ill precede his Mhjestv 's talk, will be introduced by Sir Laurence -Olivier. This year the theme of the programme will be the urgent need of men and women of goodwill to unite in the cause of peace. TBe B.B.C. has arranged for a seties of reports from all over the world, iucluding brief stories from the miued cities in Europe, displaced persons' camps, farms, factories and even lonely weather ships in the Atlantie. hlessages from newly arrived British immigrants in the various Doniinions, will - be included and linked up with tllose from miners, factory wdi'kei'S and farmers in Britain. The Iving will commgnce his broadcast at 3 p.m. G.M.T.
