SUNDAY SCHOOL PARTY

JOLLY GATHERING HELD The pupils of the Church of England Sunday School were fortunate in that their breaking up ceremonies were held before the outbreak of infantile paralysis caused the cancellatiori of similar functions. The party was held. in the Parish Hall, which was tastefully decorated by the senior pupils the evening before, and the tables were gay with vases of flowers, the credit for this work going to Mrs. C. M. Cronquest. At five o'clock 71 excited children sat down to enjoy all the delightful things to eat which are associated with functions of this nature. Later the tables were removed and the children spent a happy hour in games and being entertained by Mr. C. M. Cronquest with his dancing doll and nigger minstrel songs. Miss D. Wood presided at the piano. A recitation was given by Kay Collins, while Elva McEwen played a. pianoforte solo. Ice creams and bpft drinks were distributed and gifts from the wellfllled Christmas tree delighted.the children. At 7 p.m., when several of the parents were present, the Sunday School superintendent, Mr. Cronquest, presented each pupil with a prize in the form of a book and gifts were handed to Pam Clayton and Joyce Parr (two junior teachers) in recognition of the good work they had done in assisting Mr. Cronquest with the teaching of the children. The adults present enjoyed light refreshments.
