AUCKLAND, Dec. 4. A labourer, aged 21, Edward George Thomas Bread, was charged' before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., this morning with the4 attempte'd murder o'f Frederick George Sn-ee-ton. Accused was remanded for a week. The charge was the sequel ta an incident last night when Streeton. who is aged about 22, of 5 Marie Avenue, Mt. Roskill, staggered into a private hotel in Symonds Street with knife wounds in the chest. Hiwas rushed to the Auckland Hospital in a serious condition. There was • a trail of blood from the tram lines in Symonds Street to' the stepS of the hotel. A portable ra'dio, which was tuned in to a local station, was found on the footpath lower down the street. Streeton was given a blood transfusion at the hospital.
