STATE AIRWAYS OPERATE AT LOSS
Received Wednesdav, 7.30 p.m. CAXBERRA, Dec. 3. Trans-Australia Airlines, which is owned by the Oovernment, lost £505,027 in the financial year ended June 30, 1947. A report talded today by the AnMinister, Mr. Drakefonl, revealed thai total advances by the Treasury to (he comiiany up til! that date, were £2,17u,000. The total reveuue earued during the last financial year was £1 ,033, 072. Training and operational costs ainounted to £1,339,(589 and general exjienses and administration costs £204,300.
