Mr. F. J. Ryder had always been in the forefront of the battle for farming interests and his death had been a blow to the agricultural community, stated Mr. H. J. MeLeavey, chairman, at yesterday's meeting of Federated Farmers* (Manawatu) meat and wool section. The meeting stood in silence as a token of respect. Mr. H. Dustin was welcomed as the new member to the Foxton Harbour Board at the first meeting of the board since the local body elections, yesterday. Mr. J. A. Nash was re-elected as chairman and Mr. W. E. Barber as treasurer. l%e board resolved to place on record its appreciation of the services of Mr. M. Perreau.
