Mr. A. P. O.'Shea, general secretary of Federated Farmers of New Zealand, has returned from the Food and Agricultural Conferr ence at Geneva. A retired senior British Army officer who' served with distinction in two wars. General Sir Andrew Thorne, K.C.B., C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O. and two bars, will arrive at Auckland by the Waiwera from London on Thursday. ' He is accompanied by Lady Thorne. A former commander of the world's largest liners, the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, Sir James Bissett, and Lady Bissett, who are at present visiting Australia, will later come to New Zealand, according to Rev. E. P. Blamires, who was a fellow pas-. senger with them from Britain tq Australia. Mr. Blamires returned to New Zealand by the Wahine.
