The present Government of Greeje had all the elements of P'asc sm and was in power because the Jnited States and Britain were suppming it, said Colonel Alexander Sheppard, of the Australian Army, in an interview. Colonel Sheppard spent two and a half years in Greece with the Australian Army, Red Cross, UNRRA, the British l'oreign Office and as chief of tlie British economic mission. He said that the elements of Fascism were secret police committees with power to sentence citizens to exile for ten years, the suppression of trade unions, and the inhuman prison conditions and other atrocities. He claimed that if Britain and the United States transferred their support to a Liberal democratic Government Greece's troubles would be over.
