ROTARY GOVERNOR'S VISIT
! MEETING WITH LEVIN CLUB The Governor of the • 53rd (New Zealand) District of Rotary International, Mr. Charles Greenslade, of Dunedin, was a visitor to Levin on Saturday and at night met members of the Levin Club. The president, Mr. D. P. Todd, in cordially welcoming Mr. Greenslade, sai'd his district embraced all clubs in the South Island and those in the southern portion of the North Island to as far north as Pahiatua and Levin. In the three months since he had taken office as District Governor Mr. Greenslade had visited practically all his clubs in the South Island, while he had also conducted the world president of Rotary, Mr. S. Kendrick GuernSey, of U.S.A> through his district. Levin was the first North Island club he ha# visited. Mr. Greenslade had already_ done a great deal for Rotary, added Mr. Todd, and members of the Levin Club were pleased to have him with them. Mr. Greenslade acknowledged the welcome given him and voiced his pleaSufe at being in ' Levin. He went on to give an account of the international assembly and convention of Rotary International, which was held eariier this year in the Unjted States, and which he attended. Clubs from all over the world — China, CzechoSlovakia, Brazil and so on — were represented there. He; had mixed with them and had discussions with them. They thought very much as we in New Zealand did, and their ideals were very similar to ours. Mr. Greenslade added that the potentialities of Rotary from an international angle were unlimited. Many Rotary matters and club activities were discussed during the evening, and at the conclusion Mr. Todd conveyed the club's thanks to Mr. Greenslade, voicing the hope that he might again visit Levin before his year of office. ended.
