PRESENTATION OF ELECTION ISSUES It was the duty of the Press to report and report truthfully, and not attempt to influence public opinjop by leading artiples, declared Mr. W. Seddon, .convener of a meeting of ratepayers in Levin on Thursday night. Such practices, he con'sidered, were not right. They were not democratic. The speaker was referring to the con•dpet efections. ■ ^ ; :• ■ Congratulating the local Press on -the waygill which it had -presented the various issues in the recent election, and the neutral stand it had taken, Mr. Seddon said "it would have been better for the country if all newspapers had adopted a similar attitude. The Press, he maintained, should remain neutral. The decision in an election was a matter for the citizens.
