RAILWAY WAGON SHORTAGE
Received Wednesday, 9-50 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 18. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir Stafford Cripps, ' told a Press conference that the position of. Britain's rolling stock was extremeiy grave. Nearly 200, U00 wagons were under or awaiting repair and the deterioration of * existing. wagons was outstripping both repair andi replacement. He estimated the deficiency at 100,000 wagons for coal,., iron, steel and general merchandise.
