SERVICES TO RATEPAYERS Ratepayers of the Te Horo Riding of the Horowhenua County and friends met at a social evening recently in St. Luke's Hall, Waikanae, to honour their retiring councillor, Mr. G. A. Monk. The Otaki Singing Circle, conducted by Mr. W. H. Townrow, provided a most enjoyable musical programme. Mr. T. W. Brown, as chairman for the evening, welcomed Mr. and Mrs. • Monk. Messrs. R. W. Jenkins, K. Spiers and H. A. Lumsden spoke on behalf of the council and ratepayerr Each expressed apprecia/ion of the service given by Mi. Monk to the community during his 35 years in office. An attractive dinner and . tea-set was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Monk by Mr. G. Kemsley. Both Mr. and Mrs. Monk expressed their thanks for the evening and the gift. s
