FOOD FOR RRITAIN CAMPAIGN TO BE INTENSIFIED , - Cash donations would be. the basis of the first appeal in the food for Britain campaign, said the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, at an aid for Britain meeting on Monday night, He proposed that the committee should write to the larger 4nstitutions in the district and solieit a substantial' donation. Individual donations could be solicited from residents, he continued. Over £64 had already been given to the fund and it should be possible to raise £500 in this effort. Extending over no more than two weeks, the campaign would include a stock drive, a bottle drive and a street day. which would be held on Friday, November 21. Mr, Burdekin, said he did uot think that this -would be the last appeal, Britain would be short of food for •many months to come.
