Personal Mr. F. J. Ryder is at present seriously ill in hospital in Napier. Mr. Ke-n Ames is at present in .hospital in Palmerston North, the result of an injury to his hand received when it came in contact with a grass-cutter on Saturday. Mr. John Simcox is at present a pacient at the Amara Hospital, Levin. He is reported to be making good progress and should be abie to return to his home in the course of a week or so. The funeral of the late Mr. Thomas Smith took place on Saturday at the public cemetery in the presence of his many friends. Canon H. E. K. Fry held a service at Aii Samts' Church, and also conducted the service at the graveside. A number of beautiful floral tributes w.ere placed on the casket. Remembrance Day Yesterday was Remembrance Day and was fittingly observed by local and district churches. Car Stolen a inoior-car left in Main Street on Saturday night was taken by some unauthorised person. It was iater recovered by Constable TurnDull in a ditch between Te Horo and Waikanae. The undercarriage was considerably damaged. Church Offertories As the resuit oi a special offertory to the Anglican general church fund Levin contributed £14 6s 9d, Otaki £8 3s 6d, Paraparaumu £5 17s 9d and Foxton £1 18s 6d. For the Maori mission Otaki, per Rev. Paora Temuera, contributed £5 8s lld.
