JERSEY BREEDERS' SUCCESS

AWARDS AT MANAWATU SHOW Horo whenua Jersey breeders competed with outstanding success at the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association's spring show at Palmerston North on Friday. Mr. J. H. Taylor's Heatherlea Panther won the bull ehampionship and Messsr. Allan Horn and Sons' Kuku King Owl the reserve award. The reserve champion cow honour went to Messrs. H. J. Lancaster and Sons' Heatherlea Aloma. in the general classes for Jerseys distriet breeders won awards as follows: Messrs. H. J. Lancaster and Son (Levin)-, one first, three seconds, one third, one v.h.c.; Mr. A. Hudson (Levin) , one first, one second, four thirds, one v.h.c.; Mr. A. J. Du Pont (Te Horo), one second; Messrs. Allari Horn and Sons (Levin) , three seconds, one v.h.c.; Mrs. M. F. Evans (Weraroa), two firsts, one second, one third; Mr. B. R. Robinson (Manakau), one first, one second; Mr. J. H. Taylor (Levin) , one first. In the Friesian section Messrs. B. S. Kyle (Otaki Railway) and R. W. Horne (Levin) won a first and v.h.c. respectively. Messrs. Allan Horn and Sons secured a second for grade dairy cattle and Mr. R. H. Bryant (Manakau), a third. Messrs. Atkins Bros. (Manakau) were awarded two seconds in the Ayrshire classes, Mr. D. L. Corrigan (Te Horo) a third and v.h.c. and Mr. C. E. C. Webb (Levin) a v.h.c. Exhibiting in ■ the Southdown sheep section, Mr. G. W. Munford (Shannon) secured one first and two third prize awards.
