y GISBORNE, Nov. 7. Au indicatiou that tlie rapidly increasing volume of food parcels di.spatched from the Dominion was becoming a inajor cmbarrassment to the autiiorities in tlie Dominion and Bri; tain, was given by JMr. D. A. Robertson, a meniber of the Aid for Britain council, in an address in Gisborne. He suggested that until advice was roceived from the British Food Alinistry whether the volume of dispatelies couh) be handled, people in the Dominion should not proceed with inajor projeets for increasing the dispatcli of parcels. Hc raade it clear that he referred particularly to the bulk shipment of food by various organisations. Iteference was made by H r. .T. Leggat to tlie fact that the Priine Minister, in the last few days, had asked the schools to adojit tlie school-to-school system of parcel dispateh.. They might suffer a serious disappbint ' ment in a few days. He did not 'oondemn tlie sending of food paireels. and did not suggest that present efforks; be iiseontinued — at least not until official advice to that effect was received.
