SANATORIUM EXTENSIONS
COMMITTEE STILL UNABLE TO | ACCEPT TENDER Although it v^as five months since tsnders had been received, the cbmrnittee was still not in a position to accept a tender for extensive building work at the Otaki • Sanatorium, advised the ma'naging-secretary, Mr. A. J. Phillipps, at a meeting of the Wes'tern Districts' Joint Sanatorium Committee in Otaki on Wednesday. "Since I received advice that the Local Government Loans Board was referring the matter to the Public Works Department for a report I have been in communication with the Health Department," said Mr. Phillipps. "Since Dr. Taylor's return I have been orally advised by the architect to the Health Department that the Public Works Department still has the matter - under consideration. Apparently in view of the considerable increase in the price it was considered necessary, to get a quantity surveyor's report, and I was told today that this is in the course of preparation."
