DUNLH1X, Xov, 5. Thirty-seven bands will participate in the Centennial band contest at. Dunedin from Bebruary 15 to 21. The Oarisbrook ground will be used for the puiposes of the contest as well as the Town Hall concert chamber and other halls for the solos. The entries eomprise eight A grade bands, 17 B grade and 12 C grade — one of the largest entries on recor'd and exceeding the number which participated when the Dominion contest last was held in Dunedin in 1933 when 30 bands eompeted. The participating bands are: — A grade championship : Invercargill Civie, Bt. Kilda, Kaikorai, Woolston, Wanganui Queen Alexandra 5s, Second New Zealand Armoured Regimental (Wanganui), Palmerston X'orth Garrrison and Wellington Waterside Silver Bands. B grade championship: Auckland Watersiders, Ashburton Silver, Wellington Tramways, Greymouth Mum cipal, Auckland Watersiders Junior, Lower Hutt, Christchurch Municipal, Blenheim Kegimental and Weljingtou Boys ' Institute Senior Bands, the Band of the Pirst Battalion Southiand Regiment (Invercargill), Westport Municipal, Hastings Citizens ', Masterton Municipal Silver, Caversham Citizens', Oamaru Garrison, Palmerston Xnrth City and Nelson Garrison Bands. C grade championship: Ponsonby Boys ' Brass Band, Port Chalmers klarine, JMotueka Municipal, Lyttelton Marine, Westport (Municipal, Crichton Cobbers' Club (Christchurch), Temuka Municipal, Marton Municipal and Wellington Waterside Junior Bands, Rangiora Brass Band, Dunedin Ladies ' Brass Band and Otahuhu X ew Zealaud Railvvays Brass Baud.
