WELLINGTON, Nov. 4. "New 'Zealand postage stamps secui'ed first place, and four other places as well, in a recent competition held in London by a well-known stamp dealing firm, to select the 12 best post.age stamps issued since the war," said the Postmaster-General (Mr. Hackett) today. "This is a good indieation of the high standard of design and production," continued the Minister, "and the result is a credit to Mr. James ' Berry, of Wellington, who deaigned the stamps. ' ' The New Zealand stamps placed were: — The 9d peace (chapel at Franz Josef Glacier), 1; Jd peace (Lake Matheson), 6; l|d peace (St. Paul's Cathedral) , 7; 1945 health (Peter Pan), 9; ls peace (National Memorial Caxnpanile, Wellington), 12.
