MANCHURIAN WAR'S WORST BATTLE

Received Wednesday, 10.25 a.m. NANKING, Nov. 4. The American-traine-d Nationalist new First Army, which is fightmg its way to the left of Kirin, 65 miies east of Changchun, engaged two Communist divisions south of Changchun today. The action was described by a Government military spokesman as the Manchurian war's bloodiest. Bomb-laden Nationalist planes flew throughout the day to the fighting area, where the Nationalisrs are reported to be infiicting heavy casualties, the spokesmen added. The Communists are with-. drawing thousands of men from the Kirin area and throwing them mto the battlefron of Changchun.
