■ ■ — • — WELLINGTON, Nov. 2. Four women V.A. 's from Wellington are giving assistaxrce to the nursing staff at the Kaikoura hospital where there are over the double normal number of patients as a result of a recent outbrealc of typhoid. Approximately 50 persons are reported td be sulfering from typhoid at Kaikoura, As Canterbury was unable to provide "sufficient girls to assist the nursing staff at Kaikoura the assistanee of the Health Department was enlisted. Six V.A.'s were wanted, four were obtained from Wellington and it is hoped to get two from Dunedin. In addition five of the Health Department '3 distriet nurses have gone to help, three from Christchurch and two from Wellington.
