♦ l AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. Believed to have been. the victim of an assault a man was found lying in tlie doorway of a shop in New NoiT.li Road, Eden Terrace, on Saturday night suH'ering from head injuries. He is Monty Stanaway, aged 32, whose address is believed to be the Government workers' hostel at Mechanics Bay and he is now in the Auckland Hospital with coneussion. His condition tonight was still serious. The injured man was' found by a man and woman at about 10.45 p.m. II e had been kicked or struck on the head. It is Understood that earlier in the evening he attended a party at a house in Kingsland but it is not known how he came to be in the shop doorway.
